Through our food division (Tonop Kitchen), our brand produces ready-to-use cooking solutions such as the famous Jollof Purée, spice blends, and packaged meal kits that simplify the preparation of traditional African dishes like jollof rice, while preserving rich cultural flavors.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Chef Omor Oyebola (Mrs); Founder & Head Chef, Tonop Foods
Chef Omor is an award-winning chef, food innovator, and the founder and Head Chef of Tonop Foods, a South Africa-based African food brand focused on making authentic West African cuisine simple, accessible, and consistent for modern consumers. She is a woman of integrity whose work is driven by a clear vision: to transform traditional African recipes into easy-to-use, high-quality food solutions that fit seamlessly into today’s fast-paced lifestyle while preserving their original taste and cultural identity.
With a strong foundation in culinary excellence, she graduated as the top student from the WAPA Culinary Department (LAGOS STATE) and has gone on to earn recognition through the Golden Penny Cooking Competition. She has been featured on the Kaya FM Africa Cookout Show and was selected as part of the chef team that served the, then former Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Mrs Adefulure. These milestones reflect both her technical skill and her growing influence within the African culinary space.
Beyond the kitchen, Chef Omor brings a multidisciplinary approach to building Tonop Foods. She holds a BSc in Mass Communication from Lagos State University (LASU) and is also a trained professional in digital marketing, food safety, and food photography. Her certifications include HACCP and a Diploma in Food Safety, equipping her with the expertise to develop products that meet high standards of quality, safety, and scalability in both retail and food service environments.
As the creative and strategic force behind Tonop Foods, she leads the development of innovative products such as Jollof Purée, designed to simplify the cooking of authentic jollof rice without compromising flavor. Under her leadership, the brand continues to grow as a bridge between West African culinary heritage and modern South African markets, serving households, food lovers, and businesses seeking convenient, reliable African food solutions.
Chef Omor is also deeply committed to sustainability and industry impact. She serves as an advisory member and signatory of SAFLWI in a food service leadership capacity and has represented youth voices as a delegate at the Food and Agriculture Organization (UN-FAO, year ’24/25). Her work reflects a dedication to responsible food practices, reduced waste, and long-term value creation within the food ecosystem.
In addition to her professional achievements, she contributes actively to community and industry development as an event coordinator at NCEA and was nominated for Young Female Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 (NCEA). She is also a Silver Member (FLEX) and a Platinum Member (Nsbc), further demonstrating her commitment to leadership and continuous growth.
Through Tonop Foods, Chef Omor is building more than a brand, she is shaping a movement that celebrates African culture, embraces innovation, and delivers practical food solutions for everyday life. Her vision is to establish Tonop Foods as a trusted household name across South Africa, the SADC region, and beyond, making authentic African cooking easy and accessible for every home.
